About The Event
Chapel Street Quartet play in the beautiful Trevow Chapel in Helston. Join them for an evening exploring the expressive range of the string quartet, spanning warmth, beauty, memory and landscape.
The Quartet will perform William Grant Still’s lyrical and characterful Lyric Quartette, which paints musical portraits of three of his friends, Caroline Shaw’s atmospheric Plan & Elevation, inspired by the gardens of Dumbarton Oaks and Shostakovich’s short but intensely personal 7th quartet, written in memory of his first wife The programme concludes with Borodin’s much-loved 2nd string quartet with the cello taking centre stage in some of its most memorable melodies.
